ISFA organised the FA Age Appropriate Coaching Courses for teachers in prep schools during Summer 2009.These courses were specifically designed for teachers of 5-11 year old players, though the skills learned will also be suitable for players up to 14 years.
Further courses will be arranged in 2010 and full details will appear on this page in the New Year.
The FA Learning Introductory Module – Age Appropriate Coaching is a brand new, vocational course (introduced in 2008) that provides the coach with an opportunity to develop an awareness of both the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching young players in the 5-11 age group.
The courses will include information on the FA's new strategies for the coaching of 5-11 year olds, including the
FA Tesco Skills Programme.
All courses will begin at 10.00 am and finish at 4.00 pm with breaks for refreshments and lunch. The courses will be staffed by the Football Association.
Qualified teachers who have attended this course will then be eligible to attend either the FA Youth Award Module 1 (5-11 years) or the FA Youth Module 2 (8-14 years) in the future if they wish to do so.

Conference, Coaching Development and INSET Day
ISFA staged its first Conference, Coaching Development and INSET Day in June 2007, aimed at coaches of Senior Boys, Girls and Prep Schools. The Conference was a great success and it is hoped that it will be repeated in 2009.
