The 2013-14 Kent & Sussex Regional Championship will take place on Saturday 5th October at Cumnor House School, Danehill (10.30 am).

Holmewood House narrowly won the Kent & Sussex Championship, pipping a very impressive Hall Grove team

Despite heavy overnight rain, Cumnor House School did magnificently well to ensure that the tournament was able to take place and ISFA is grateful to all their staff for their hard work in this respect.

Hall Grove and St. Ronan’s both impressed in Group A and a draw in the match between these two schools meant that only goal difference split them, Hall Grove finishing in first place.  After two games each in Group B, three teams had won a match but nobody had won both so it was a very open affair.  In the end Bede’s, Lingfield Notre Dame and Yardley Court all qualified.  Holmewood House were always in charge in Group C, wining all three of their games

The three group winners confirmed their superiority in the quarter-finals, all three going through whilst St. Ronan’s and Lingfield Notre Dame could only be split by penalties but it was Hall Grove and Holmewood who deservedly won through the semi-finals, the only two schools who had remained undefeated in the group stages.

In an excellent final, Holmewood House triumphed by a single goal, ensuring that they won all six matches they played during the day and clinched a place in the National Finals.  However, great credit should go to a most impressive Hall Grove School who played some excellent final and were subsequently invited to participate in the Finals.
